Hola ricardo,

1. Locating addresses
You can use the website
www.krak.dk to look up the exact position of addresses. Click on "Person", write the address in the second field "Hvor" (= Danish for "Where"

, and write the address. When you have the address, you can click on "Kort" = map, on "Rejseplan" = Travel Planner, or on "Ruteplan" = Route.
2. Housing dictionaries when looking at advertisements in Danish
On the accommodation websites there are typically more advertisements in Danish than in English. But you will be able to recognise prices, location and other important information in advertisements in Danish if you use a simple housing dictionary as for example:
The Housing Dictionary on the website of Ungdomsinformation ("Youth Accommodation” – www.ui.dk):
http://www.ui.dk/node.asp?artikelID=632&kategoriID=95
GramTrans:
http://gramtrans.com/?pair=da-en
Private rental accommodation – free websites in English
The websites mentioned below are available in English.
Ungdomsinformationen – “Youth Information”:
www.ui.dk
On this website you can find offers of accommodation in Copenhagen, and you can advertise your housing need for one month.
How to use the website when looking for private accommodation:
Press “Find a place to live”, and press “UI’s housing offers”, “student accommodation” (i.e. student residence halls or dorms) are not for PhD students but for bachelor and master students. Answer the various questions. Under “Preferred area” you can choose among a number of areas in Copenhagen. Good locations are Amager, Christianshavn, City and Frederiksberg, but also Nordvest, Nørrebro, Vesterbro and Østerbro are OK if the accommodation is close to an S-train station or a metro station.
How to use the website when advertising your housing-need:
Press “Find a place to live”, and press “Advertise your housing need”. Answer the various questions on the page.
Lejebolig – “Rental accommodation”:
www.lejebolig.dk
As the website is meant for students to look for rooms, you can get contact details about landlords or landladies renting out rooms, but you cannot get contact details about flats.
It is a good idea to look at both the Danish and the English version of the website as there will be more advertisements in the Danish version.
Universitetsavisen (“The University Paper”):
www.ku.dk/universitetsavisen
Universitetsavisen is Copenhagen University’s newspaper in which you can find offers of rooms and flats for rent. Some advertisements are in Danish, some in English.
Open the pdf version, click on the document, click "Search", click "Find a word in the current PDF document", and write "Bolig udlejes" (= accommodation for rent). It may sound a bit complicated, but it is not. If you find anything interesting, it is necessary to act quickly and phone or email the landladies/landlords.
